Cow Dung Furniture
2008
These sculptural interiors was part of my exam work from the Bachelor program at Konstfack.
As a ceramic artist I was searching for methods to work independent of size limitations and with less negative impact on the environment. I found this solution by combining my fascination for adobe and mud-house architecture together with a mongolian papier mache.
Paper, starch, clay, sand, straw, lime and cow or goat dung. The dung does except its function to seal the surface contribute to a strong symbolic claim about historic and tradition bound knowledge and the potential of nature.
